The death toll from the Camp Fire increased to 77 on 18 November 2018, as the blaze destroyed thousands of homes. Officials said that around 1,000 people are missing and unaccounted for. The fire, the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state's history, has scorched as of 19 November 2018, some 150,000 acres and has been 65 percent contained. According to monitoring groups, air quality in Northern California has become the worst in the world, worse than air polluted cities in India and China, due to the devastating fires affecting the state.
