Agata Jakoncic

Since January 2017, Agata has been the helm of MSD Greece, a leading pharmaceutical company recognized for providing innovative medicines, vaccines, and life-saving therapies. Since April 2024, she has assumed the position of Vice-President, Alternate responsible for Scientific Affairs and Clinical Studies at SFEE.

Agata is a dynamic and results-driven pharmaceutical executive with over 20 years of experience in US pharmaceutical companies, having held various international roles across Slovenia, the Balkans, the United States, the Baltic states, Romania, and Greece. She has a strong track record in shaping effective organizational strategies, driving digital transformation, fostering innovation, and building agile, adaptable cultures.

During her tenure at MSD Greece, Agata strengthened business performance while placing patients, society, and people at the center of operations. She played a key role in advancing talent development, embedding a digital culture, and launching continuous learning journeys. A strong advocate of Diversity and Inclusion, she also actively supported Corporate Sustainability initiatives, resulting in MSD been recognized as a Best Place to Work, ranked among the Most Sustainable Companies in Greece, and awarded multiple distinctions for its digital presence. MSD’s products have also been recognized for innovation, including the Prix Galien Greece award.

Agata has been actively involved in shaping pharmaceutical policy in Greece, serving as President of the Pharma Innovation Forum from June 2020 to May 2023, contributing to improved patient access to innovative medicines.

Originally from Slovenia, Agata holds a Master of Pharmacy from the University of Ljubljana and is known for her high energy, result-oriented mindset, and inspirational leadership.
